Cultural Facilities:

The North Peace Cultural Centre is home to a 413 seat theatre that is a venue for local performing arts groups in the area. In addition, each season the centre brings in 12 - 20 professional performing arts groups ranging from theatre to dance. Located in the centre is the Peace Gallery North, a nationally certified art gallery, the Fort St John Public Library, the Artspace ticket and information centre, a variety of meeting rooms. a sprung dance floor and an indoor sidewalk cafe.

Since opening in 1992, the Cultural Centre has hosted more than 300 events and 40 art exhibits. In one year alone it welcomed over 35,000 visitors! The classes offered by the Artspace bring in annually 1,200 participants ranging in ages from 2 to 82, taking a variety of courses from cooking, tap dancing to a selection of arts and crafts. The cultural Centre acts to support, promote and present artistic activities that benefit the people and enhance the reputation of the North Peace Region.
